At this point in the season, there’s no more guessing. Teams are what they are, and that clarity has driven our recent success, as our approach is paying off with consistent results.
Virginia Tech vs. Clemson – Virginia Tech Team Total Under
Clemson has been impressive since conference play started. Brad Brownell has prioritized defense over the past two years, and the Tigers are allowing 62.2 points per game at home in conference. They don’t have a true go-to guy like Chase Hunter or Ian Schieffelin; RJ Godfrey leads the Tigers in scoring with 11.9 points per game. The Hokies have struggled in conference play, sitting at 5-6 with just one road win. They’re averaging 74.5 points per game in conference road contests. As impressive as that sounds, the competition hasn’t been special and it’s been against faster-paced squads. Duke is the only team in the conference that’s on par with Clemson on the defensive end of the court, and Virginia Tech scored just 58 points against them in Blacksburg.

Toledo vs. Western Michigan – Over
These teams are both in the top half of the country in pace, and they combined for 163 points when they matched up in December. The Broncos have cleared 76 points in three of their last four home conference matchups. There’s a good chance Toledo’s offense comes out ready to go, as they’ve lost two straight. They combined for 143 points in those losses. Western Michigan is looking to figure some things out here as well, as they’ve lost three straight and sit at 2-8 in conference. Both teams come in needing a response, and that desperation often shows up in tempo.
Colorado vs. Texas Tech – Texas Tech to Cover
Taking big spreads in-conference isn’t always fun, but there are certain spots that are still worth attacking. The Red Raiders have lost two of their last three matchups; one loss was on the road, and the other was a matchup with red-hot Kansas while Tech was without Christian Anderson. We’ve seen the Red Raiders dominate some conference opponents at home, like their 102-80 win over Oklahoma State. That’s what could happen here. In their last two road matchups, Colorado lost to Baylor by 19 and Iowa State by 30.
