Though the chaos of the women’s basketball transfer portal has begun to slow, big news is still trickling in as coaches piece together their rosters for next season.

Plenty of prominent names still remain available while some of the most coveted players have recently announced their next destinations.

Here’s a look at the latest headlines involving women’s basketball transfers courtesy of our friends over at The Portal Report.

Former Maryland Forward Declares for Florida State

Senior forward Allie Kubek began her career at Towson, where she was named All-Freshman in the CAA and then progressed as a sophomore. She averaged a career-high 14.6 points while starting 31 out of 32 games and helped the Tigers to a program record 24 wins. Kubek was named to the All-CAA third team.

Kubek transferred to Maryland for the 2022-23 season but tore her ACL and was forced to miss the entire campaign. She bounced back the next two seasons, averaging 9.1 points per game, and once again entered the portal. She recently declared her commitment to Florida State.

Iowa State Receives a Commitment from Mid-Major Star

One of the premier mid-major talents in the country is heading to Iowa State as 6-foot sophomore wing Evangelia Paulk announced her commitment to the Cyclones on Saturday. She spent the past two seasons at Wofford averaging 12.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game and was honored as the SoCon’s Player of the Year in 2024-25.

Virginia Adds a Former Ivy League Forward

A former four-star recruit and top 50 prospect in the class of 2022, 6-foot-4 junior forward Tabitha Amanze began her career at Princeton. She battled injuries as a sophomore and averaged just 6.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game but still helped the Tigers claw to a fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament.

Though Amanze entered the transfer portal later into the cycle on April 14, she had multiple high major suitors and reportedly saw Notre Dame expressing early interest. On May 3, Amanze announced her commitment to Virginia, where she’ll add some much needed front court depth next season.

Houston Brings in a Leading Freshman from the Atlantic 10

A top freshman from the Atlantic 10 is heading to Houston as 5-foot-8 first-year guard Shun’teria Anumele committed to the Cougars last week. In her lone season with Saint Louis, the Houston native averaged 9.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.

Anumele selected Houston over several other high major candidates with her final two programs reportedly coming down to the Cougars and Auburn.

Central Florida Announces Third Transfer

On May 1, Central Florida coach Sytia Messer picked up a third portal addition when 5-foot-9 senior guard Jacorriah Bracey declared for the Knights. Bracey is a former five-star recruit whose career began at Mississippi, where played in 45 games over two seasons but never averaged more than 3.5 points per game.

Bracey transferred to Southern Mississippi during the 2022 offseason and instantly excelled for the Golden Eagles. She averaged 8.5 points as a junior and 10.9 as a senior before she opted to sit out the 2024-25 season and hit the transfer portal once again.

All-Big 12 Selection Heading to UCLA

Junior guard Gianna Kneepkens of Utah officially announced her commitment to UCLA and head coach Cori Close. This past season, Kneepkens averaged 19.3 points per game which was 29th in the NCAA while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 45 percent from three. She was named first team All-Big 12.

Reports suggest that Kneepkens fielded interest from a plethora of high majors, including  South Carolina, UConn, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Texas. She even scheduled visits with the Gamecocks, Longhorns and Sooners in April but ultimately was swayed by Close and her staff.

Alabama Center Has Officially Withdrawn from the Portal

Senior forward JeAnna Cunningham, a former four-star prospect, has withdrawn her name from the transfer portal and will return to Alabama to play her final season of eligibility. Cunningham entered the portal back on April 23 with a “Do Not Contact” tag after a season in which she averaged 2.3 points and 2.4 rebounds.

The Long Island, NY native began her career at West Virginia, where she made just 13 appearances in two seasons before joining the Crimson Tide in 2022.

Former Central Florida Star Cuts List to 7

After a season in which she was selected to the Big 12 All-Freshman team for averaging 11.9 points per game, 6-foot first-year wing Emely Rodriguez has multiple high majors very interested. Reports are now suggesting that she’ll decide from a final seven of Auburn, Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Indiana, Arizona and Kansas State in the coming weeks.

Texas Transfer Looks to Respark Career at Syracuse

Senior guard Laila Pheila showed flashes of greatness as a sophomore and junior at Michigan where she earned a pair of Big East all-conference selections. After averaging 16.8 points per game during that span, Pheila opted for the transfer portal and decided to join a national powerhouse in Texas.

However, after just eight appearances for the Longhorns, Pheila was forced to miss the remainder of the season as she battled an eye injury suffered during the summer. Tagged with a medical redshirt, Pheila entered the transfer portal earlier this off-season and officially announced her commitment to Syracuse on Thursday afternoon.

Big Ten DPOY Commits to Defending Champs

Junior forward Serah Williams announced her commitment to the 12-time national champions in UConn late last week. The 2023-24 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year is one of the best two-way players in the country, coming off a season in which she averaged 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.

Williams had lots of high-major interest this offseason and reportedly visited with North Carolina and LSU before officially declaring for Geno Auriemma’s Huskies.
