The women’s college basketball transfer portal continues to reshape the national picture, with impact players finding new homes and forming intriguing new cores.

One of the best defenders in the American Athletic Conference, Savannah Curry, is on the move, while Madison St. Rose will form a potent pairing at Notre Dame. Out west, Tilda Trygger will provide a major addition for Washington.

Here are the top headlines from the women’s transfer portal over the last week:

Oklahoma State Scores Major Wins

This is a team that nobody had on their radar. Now the Cowgirls are coming into 2026-27 with championship aspirations.

When you pair up the No. 1 transfer in the nation, a 22.5 points-per-game scorer, and a former D-II National Player of the Year, you rightfully deserve all of the attention you get. Audi Crooks, Liv McGill and Talexa Weeter are going to be a force in the Big 12.

Madison St. Rose Heads to Notre Dame to Form Elite Backcourt

Senior guard Madison St. Rose is taking her scoring and versatility to South Bend, where she’ll pair up with junior guard Hannah Hidalgo to form what quickly becomes one of the best backcourts in the country.

St. Rose comes off a strong season at Princeton in which she averaged 15.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting nearly 48 percent from the field. Alongside Hidalgo, the reigning ACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, the Irish now have a dynamic two-way duo capable of impacting the game on both ends.

The Rich get Richer with Jordan Lee’s move to South Carolina

Jordan Lee heading to South Carolina is yet another example of the rich getting richer. The rising junior guard brings production and versatility after averaging 13.2 points and 2.5 assists at Texas, giving the Gamecocks another reliable backcourt piece.

For a program coming off a national championship appearance, this move helps keep everything intact after the loss of Raven Johnson. Alongside a strong returning core, while also pairing Lee with incoming five-star freshman Oliviyah Edwards, South Carolina continues to stack talent and maintain its place firmly among the nation’s elite.

Savannah Curry Makes In-Conference Move From Temple to South Florida

AAC-Honorable Mention sophomore guard Savannah Curry is staying within the conference, making the move from Temple to South Florida.

Curry emerged as one of the league’s top perimeter defenders, averaging nearly two steals per game while taking on tough assignments nightly. Her addition gives South Florida a proven defensive presence with experience against AAC competition, something that immediately raises the team’s floor. With familiarity in the conference and room to grow offensively, Curry’s move is one that could quietly shift the balance within the American Athletic Conference next season.

LSU Stays Afloat Due to Huge Additions

Head coach Kim Mulkey and LSU wasted no time stabilizing their roster, bringing in two proven guards in Jada Williams and Laila Reynolds to keep the Tigers firmly in the national conversation, after losing one of their best players, Flau’jae Johnson.

Williams arrives as one of the top playmakers in the country, averaging 15.3 points and 7.7 assists (third in the nation), while Reynolds adds size and scoring ability after posting 12.1 points per game in the SEC. For a program with championship expectations, these additions ensure the Tigers don’t take a step back, but instead remain a serious threat moving forward.

NCAA Expanding Tournament to 76 Teams

The NCAA is reportedly finalizing a plan to expand the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournaments from 68 to 76 teams

Tilda Trygger Makes Cross Country Commute

Sophomore forward Tilda Trygger is making the move from NC State to Washington, giving the Huskies a major frontcourt addition. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 10.6 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting over 50 percent from the field.

Pairing Trygger with a rising star in sophomore guard Avery Howell is a recipe for success, and under head coach Tina Langley this move has the potential to push Washington beyond conference relevance and into the national conversation.

Reigning Champs Reload with Addy Brown

Six-foot-2 junior forward Addy Brown arrives at UCLA after a decorated three-year run at Iowa State, where she developed into one of the most versatile forwards in the country.

A consistent starter throughout her career, Brown played alongside Audi Crooks to form one of the more reliable frontcourt duos in the nation, contributing across the board as a scorer, rebounder and facilitator. Despite battling injuries this past season, she still averaged 11.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists, and now she’s joining head coach Cori Close and the reigning national champions in their pursuit for another title.

Another O’Neal Lands in the SEC

Me’Arah O’Neal is carving out her own path as a rising impact player in the portal, staying in the SEC after transferring to Kentucky.

The daughter of Shaquille O’Neal enjoyed a breakout sophomore season at Florida in which she averaged 13.6 points and 6.4 rebounds while shooting an efficient 52.9 percent from the field. While the last name carries weight, her production proves she’s more than just legacy, positioning herself as one of the best impact transfers.

Tennessee Rebuilds Entire Program Following Historic Exodus

After a turbulent offseason that saw a full roster leave the program and the loss of five-star recruit Oliviyah Edwards, Tennessee is beginning the process of rewriting its narrative.

The Lady Vols now turn to senior guard Kaylene Smikle and junior forward Fatmata Janneh for their veteran presence to anchor a complete rebuild following last year’s turmoil under head coach Kim Caldwell. Smikle, who averaged 13.1 points this season and has a history of high-level production, gives Tennessee a much needed offensive foundation as they piece together a new identity.

While the challenges remain significant, this addition signals a program determined to move forward and regain its footing.
