Following the NBA’s Draft withdrawal deadline, there’s been some significant movement in The Portal Report’s Top-10 Available Transfers. Several players either committing to the NBA or their next portal destination has seen a new cast of talent work its way into the group.

Thanks to our friends at TPR, let’s review the top-10 still available in the portal, discuss the new additions to the list and touch on all the latest news surrounding each of their recruitment.

1. George Kimble III, 6-foot-2 sophomore guard, Eastern Kentucky

Kimble’s career began at Division II Eckerd in St. Petersburg where he averaged 19.4 points per game and was selected as the Sunshine State Conference’s Rookie of the Year. He moved up to Eastern Kentucky ahead of the 2024-25 season and continued showcasing that scoring prowess by contributing 18 points per contest for the Colonels.

Though there’s been almost no reports on Kimble’s recruitment since his official entry into the portal on April 9, high major programs looking for a late score are no doubt circling.

2. Ali Dibba, 6-foot-5 senior wing, Southern Illinois

Though Dibba played his freshman season at Chicago State where he made just five appearances, a move to Abilene Christian truly unlocked his talent. In 2023-24, he averaged 15.5 points per game for the Wildcats which ultimately caught the attention of Southern Illinois head coach Scott Nagy.

Dibba joined the Salukis via the transfer portal just prior to last season and went on to lead the team in scoring as he averaged a career-high 17.2 points per game. The All-MVC Third Team selection has reportedly heard from multiple high level programs including: Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Penn State, Arizona State and more.

3. Paul McMillan IV, 6-foot-3 junior guard, Canisius

Canisius crawled to a 3-28 record this season but despite the program’s struggles, McMillan provided a rare bright spot and averaged 20 points per game in 29 appearances. That saw him finish 20th nationally in scoring before officially declaring his intentions to enter the transfer portal back on March 22.

McMillan has kept his recruitment fairly quiet late into the transfer cycle but as TPR reported in early May, the Cincinnati native has heard from more than 35 programs while in the portal.

Keonte Jones, Cal State Northridge
KEONTE JONES COULD BE A LATE PORTAL STEAL AFTER AVERAGING A NEAR-DOUBLE DOUBLE LAST YEAR.

4. Keonte Jones, 6-foot-6 senior forward, Cal State Northridge

Jones garnered an extra year of eligibility this offseason due to the NCAA’s JUCO ruling but in two seasons with Cal State Northridge he was a star. Averaging 13.1 points and 9.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game in 2024-25, the All-Big West First Team selection played a key role in leading the Matadors to a program-record 22 wins.

Jones initially committed to join USC and head coach Eric Musselman earlier this offseason but backed out of that decision on April 28. More recent reports have suggested that Alabama and Wisconsin could be in the mix to secure his signing but there just aren’t many high major programs with remaining roster spots left.

5. Desmond Claude, 6-foot-6 junior wing, USC

The Claude saga continues into the depths of the offseason following a canceled visit to Alabama and indications that Florida, North Carolina and Kentucky are no longer in pursuit. While the Crimson Tide remained interested, reports earlier this week claimed Gonzaga, SMU, Tennessee and Oregon were some of the latest programs to reach out to Claude.

The former top-100 prospect averaged 15.8 points and 4.2 assists per game for USC this season after arriving from Xavier via the transfer portal. As a sophomore for the Musketeers, Claude was selected as the 2023-24 Big East’s Most Improved Player.

Ryan Cornish, Dartmouth
RYAN CORNISH GUIDED DARTMOUTH TO ITS BEST SEASON SINCE 1999, AVERAGING 17.1 POINTS PER GAME.

6. Ryan Cornish, 6-foot-4 senior guard, Dartmouth

Though Cornish officially entered the transfer portal all the way back on March 26, the Potomac native was only granted an additional year of eligibility by the NCAA on Wednesday. Now, he’s expected to hear from a handful of top-tier mid-major programs still looking to make a late splash in the portal with the signing of the Ivy League’s third-leading scorer.

Cornish receives the extra year of eligibility by virtue of his junior season in which he only made 14 appearances and will be tagged as a redshirt campaign. However, it was his senior season in which he truly caught the nation’s attention as he averaged 17.1 points per game and helped Dartmouth to its best record since 1999.

7. Prophet Johnson, 6-foot-3 junior guard, Fairfield

Johnson proved a star in the MAAC during his lone season with Fairfield as he averaged 13.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game before being selected to the All-Conference Third Team. That led him to enter the transfer portal for a second consecutive offseason with teams like USC, NC State, Mississippi, Georgia and more all interested back in April according to TPR.

As June approaches though, Johnson is yet to announce his next transfer destination with little reportedly interest since April and roster spots starting to dwindle late into the offseason.

8. Chris Johnson, 6-foot-5 sophomore guard, Stephen F. Austin

A former top-100 prospect according to ESPN, Johnson made just 17 appearances as a freshman at Texas before transferring to Stephen F. Austin in 2024. But with persistent injury issues, he was forced out for the majority of the 2024-25 season and played just five games with averages of 10.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

It was reported by TPR that Texas A&M and McNeese State were the first two programs to reach out and express interest upon Johnson’s entry into the portal back in March. More recently, he took a visit to Pacific on April 22 and followed it up with a trip to Central Florida on May 15.

9. Ryan Curry 6-foot sophomore guard, Army

Two seasons with Army has seen Curry steadily progress and after being selected to the Patriot League’s All-Freshman Team in 2024 he put together a career-year as a sophomore. Averaging 12.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, he led the Black Knights to a third-place finish in the conference with a 17-16 record overall.

Since his official entry into the portal on April 22 there has been little reported on Curry’s recruitment. But with two years of eligibility, there’s bound to be interest for an impact scorer.

10. Daniel Rivera, 6-foot-6 senior forward, Massachusetts

Rivera’s career began at the JUCO level with Odessa which will grant him an additional season of eligibility but between stints at Bryant and UMass he’s proven capable. With the Bulldogs, he averaged 13.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in a 20-win season. Moving up to join the Minutemen in the Atlantic 10, he contributed 11.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game under head coach Frank Martin.

A native of Puerto Rico, Rivera has seemingly been on the radar for Florida Atlantic and South Florida since late April. He even took an official visit to the Bulls campus and new head coach Bryan Hodgson on May 20 which will be followed by a trip to see the Owls early next week.
