The 2025-26 college basketball season is almost here, so we at Hoops HQ wanted to do our part to get you ready by ranking the top 100 players in the country this season. We used a combination of data from our friends at The Portal Report, plus a variety of information and rankings from a host of analytics and ranking sites devoted to the sport.

So consider this a scientific exercise mixed in with a dash of art.

We’ll be rolling out these rankings in five installments, beginning today with players 81 through 100. Check back to Hoops HQ in the coming days for the rest of the rankings.

Anthony Robinson II

Anthony Robinson II

Missouri

HT/WT

6'3" / 185

Position

Guard

81. Anthony Robinson II, 6-foot-2 junior guard, Missouri

2024-25: 9.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 48 FG%

Robinson’s impact flew under the radar last season, but he started 31 games and led the Tigers in assists. The junior playmaker also earned All-SEC defensive honors, marking him as one of the best two-way players in the conference. Robinson, who also shot 40 percent from deep on 50 attempts, will have a larger role in the offense this season and could be a breakout star to watch.

Jaland Lowe

Jaland Lowe

Kentucky

HT/WT

6'1" / 170

Position

Guard

82. Jaland Lowe, 6-foot-1 junior guard, Kentucky

2024-25: 16.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 37.6 FG% (Pittsburgh)

Lowe had as much on-ball responsibility as any point guard in the nation last season, which helps explain his low shooting efficiency. Yet Lowe still managed to have some big individual outings, including 28 points in an overtime road win at Ohio State and a triple-double (11-11-11) against VMI. Lowe joins a loaded Kentucky roster where he’s not expected to be the primary guard, and with less defensive attention on him, look for Lowe’s efficiency to bounce back.

Omer Mayer

Omer Mayer

Purdue

HT/WT

6'4" / 215

Position

Guard

83. Omer Mayer, 6-foot-4 freshman guard, Purdue

2024-25: N/A

Mayer was the star of the U19 Israeli national team this summer, leading the squad with 20 points per game in the FIBA World Cup while making nearly 40 percent of his three-point attempts. He has shown to be a quality combo guard, and his ability to shoot will allow coach Matt Painter to play Mayer alongside Braden Smith in certain lineups.

Ian Jackson

Ian Jackson

St. John's

HT/WT

6'5" / 195

Position

Guard

84. Ian Jackson, 6-foot-5 sophomore guard, St. John’s

2024-25: 11.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 39.5 3FG% (North Carolina)

Jackson is a former 5-star prospect out of high school who made a name for himself in a loaded North Carolina backcourt with a number of big outings. There was a stretch in the middle of last season that saw Jackson score 20 points in six  out of seven contests, including 27 in a close win over Notre Dame. Out of the 12 games Jackson started, the sharpshooter averaged 14.5 points. His biggest asset coming to St. John’s will be his shooting ability, which the Red Storm sorely need after finishing No. 347 in three-point accuracy a year ago.

Darius Acuff

Darius Acuff

Arkansas

HT/WT

6'2" / 175

Position

Guard

85. Darius Acuff, 6-foot-2 freshman guard, Arkansas

2024-25: N/A

Acuff is a consensus top-10 overall prospect in the 2025 class and one of the nation’s most talented freshman point guards. He’s best on the ball as an elite playmaker and overall shot-maker who can score at all three levels, and that’s exactly the kind of guard who thrives in a John Calipari offense.

Mackenzie Mgbako

Mackenzie Mgbako

Texas A&M

HT/WT

6'8" / 225

Position

Forward

86. Mackenzie Mgbako, 6-foot-8 junior forward, Texas A&M

2024-25: 12.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 43.7 FG% (Indiana)

Mgbako is a former 5-star prospect who earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors at Indiana. His production on offense was inconsistent at times, with five games of 20-plus points and five contests with five points or fewer. But when Mgbako is on, he can be an elite offensive threat, as evidenced by his 31-point effort in the season opener against SIU Edwardsville. He may have found the ideal system in the transfer portal, joining coach Bucky McMillian at Texas A&M. At Samford, “Bucky Ball” was one of the top offenses in college basketball, and Mgbako is set to benefit as a potential breakout star in the SEC.

Moe Odum

Moe Odum

ASU

HT/WT

6'2" / 160

Position

Guard

87. Moe Odum, 6-foot-2 senior guard, Arizona St.

2024-25: 13.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 37.9 3FG% (Pepperdine)

While Ryan Nembhard of Gonzaga received most of the attention among WCC ball-handlers, Odum quietly was fourth in the entire country last season in assists. He had eight games of 10-plus assists, including three straight in the WCC Tournament, leading the Waves to several upset wins in the process. On a brand-new Sun Devils roster that features many mid-major newcomers, Odum stands out as the top projected player and is expected to have the ball in his hands as much as any Big 12 player.

Jasper Johnson

Jasper Johnson

Kentucky

HT/WT

6'5" / 180

Position

Guard

88. Jasper Johnson, 6-foot-5 freshman guard, Kentucky

2024-25: N/A

Johnson is a top-30 prospect in the 2025 class, recognized for his scoring ability and perimeter shooting skills. At his size, he’s capable of playing both on and off the ball, which makes him a good fit alongside projected starting point guard Jaland Lowe. Johnson is a local player from the Kentucky area with family ties, which will make him a fan favorite as well.

Keyshawn Hall

Keyshawn Hall

Auburn

HT/WT

6'7" / 240

Position

Forward

89. Keyshawn Hall, 6-foot-10 senior forward, Auburn

2024-25: 18.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 35 3FG% (UCF)

Hall is joining his fourth team in four years, but at each stop he has demonstrated what makes him such a versatile scoring threat. At UCF, Hall was one of the top scorers in the Big 12, tallying 25-plus points six times, including a 40-point effort against Arizona State. His size and comfort playing on the perimeter have made Hall a mismatch against most opponents, and that should continue in the SEC. While KeShawn Murphy will give Auburn consistent interior production in the frontcourt, look for Hall to be a guy who gets the ball in clutch opportunities.

Rienk Mast

Rienk Mast

Nebraska

HT/WT

6'10" / 250

Position

Forward

90. Rienk Mast, 6-foot-10 senior forward, Nebraska

2023-24: 12.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 43.3 FG%

The veteran forward missed all of last season with a knee injury but should be good to go for the 2025-26 campaign. Mast earned All-Big Ten honors in his first year with the Cornhuskers, producing six double-doubles, including a 34-point, 10-rebound performance against Ohio State. With Brice Williams departed, Mast has the opportunity to become the focal point for Nebraska.

Morez Johnson Jr.

Morez Johnson Jr.

Michigan

HT/WT

6'9" / 250

Position

Forward

91. Morez Johnson, 6-foot-9 sophomore forward, Michigan

2024-25: 7.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, 64 FG% (Illinois)

On a team that was led by a trio of first-year players and two eventual first-round NBA Draft picks, Johnson’s freshman campaign went relatively unnoticed. Yet playing fewer than 18 minutes per game, the physical forward was still a double-double threat. Johnson pulled down 15 rebounds in a single game against Ohio State and went for 20 points and 11 rebounds versus Penn State. He now joins Michigan, where he will be coached by Dusty May in what should be one of the Big Ten’s strongest frontcourts.

Christian Anderson

Christian Anderson

Texas Tech

HT/WT

6'3" / 178

Position

Guard

92. Christian Anderson, 6-foot-3 sophomore guard, Texas Tech

2024-25: 10.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 38 3FG%

Anderson quietly enjoyed one of the better individual freshman campaigns in the nation, all while coming off the bench. He had nine games of at least 15 points, including 19 in a Big 12 Tournament loss to Arizona and 22 points in the Raiders’ Sweet Sixteen victory over Arkansas. With both Elijah Hawkins and Darrion Williams gone, that’s 10 combined assists per game that’ll need to be replaced. Anderson is set up to be the lead guard on a preseason contender, which should raise his profile from under the radar to nationally recognized.

Chase Ross

Chase Ross

Marquette

HT/WT

6'5" / 210

Position

Guard

93. Chase Ross, 6-foot-5 senior guard, Marquette

2024-25: 10.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 37 3FG%

Over the last three years, Ross has developed into a competent starter, producing career-high numbers last season while playing alongside Kameron Jones. With Jones gone, Marquette will now be Ross’ team. He’s shown he’s capable of having big outings already, including 16 points in a Big East Tournament win over Xavier and a career-high 27 against Georgetown. Coach Shaka Smart didn’t use the transfer portal this offseason for a reason, as he clearly expects Ross to be one of the best players in the nation.

Nikolas Khamenia

Nikolas Khamenia

Duke

HT/WT

6'8" / 215

Position

Guard

94. Nikolas Khamenia, 6-foot-8 freshman forward, Duke

2024-25: N/A

Khamenia is a consensus 5-star prospect, part of another top incoming freshmen class for the Blue Devils. Where Khamenia stands out is his overall skill, which allows him to pass and shoot the ball at a high level. He’s a natural power forward but could play at the three-spot this upcoming season and give Duke as much size and shooting ability in the frontcourt as possible.

Devin Askew

Devin Askew

Villanova

HT/WT

6'5" / 195

Position

Guard

95. Devin Askew, 6-foot-5 senior guard, Villanova

2024-25: 18.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 37.6 3FG% (Long Beach)

The former 5-star prospect struggled in his first few stops but had his breakthrough campaign at Long Beach, including a pair of 30-plus point games. He has a chance to be the lead guard at Villanova, but a recent knee injury could keep him out until the start of Big East play, dampening overall expectations.

Xzayvier Brown

Xzayvier Brown

Oklahoma

HT/WT

6'2" / 182

Position

Guard

96. Xzayvier Brown, 6-foot-2 junior guard, Oklahoma

2024-25: 17.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 35 3FG% (St. Joseph’s)

Few players in the country are as capable as Brown of doing it all on the court. At times last year he was the third option behind Erik Reynolds and NBA Draft pick Rasheer Fleming; at Oklahoma, Brown will be the clear primary guard. While his game isn’t an exact match for the departed Jeremiah Fears, the blueprint is set for Brown to be the next breakout player for the Sooners.

Rodney Rice

Rodney Rice

USC

HT/WT

6'5" / 199

Position

Guard

97. Rodney Rice, 6-foot-5 junior guard, USC

2024-25: 13.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 37.4 3FG% (Maryland)

Rice was an impact transfer for the Terrapins last season, starting 32 games and scoring 20-plus points on six occasions. One of them was a 26-point outing in a Big Ten Tournament win over Illinois. Rice is now at USC, a team that lost all of its guards and lacks a proven high-major ball-handler. Not only is he likely to start, but don’t be surprised if Rice ends up assuming lead-guard duties for the Trojans.

KeShawn Murphy

KeShawn Murphy

Auburn

HT/WT

6'10" / 230

Position

Forward

98. KeShawn Murphy, 6-foot-10 senior center, Auburn

2024-25: 11.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 56.6 FG% (Mississippi State)

Another former Bulldog who cracks the list, Murphy was highly effective as a reserve last year. He had a number of big outings, including 20 points against Pittsburgh and 18 points and 13 rebounds in a loss to Florida and its elite frontcourt. Auburn, which lost the frontcourt duo of Johni Broome and Dylan Cardwell, will look for Murphy to replace some of that scoring production. Whether it’s as a starter or still off the bench, look for the veteran big man to be a consistent presence for the new-look Tigers.

Jaden Toombs

Jaden Toombs

SMU

HT/WT

6'9"

Position

Forward

99. Jaden Toombs, 6-foot-9 freshman forward, SMU

2024-25: N/A

Toombs is a top-40 prospect and one of the fastest-rising players in the 2025 recruiting class. He’s an athletic forward with skill on offense, and can be a capable rim protector on the defensive end. Sophomore big man Samet Yigitoglu will start at center for the Mustangs, but there’s a chance that he and Toombs can play together in the frontcourt.

Kanye Clary

Kanye Clary

Oklahoma State

HT/WT

6'0" / 190

Position

Guard

100. Kanye Clary, 6-foot senior guard, Oklahoma St.

2024-25 (7 games): 6.3 points and 2.6 assists, 36.8 FG%(Mississippi State)

A lower-leg injury caused Clary’s stay in Starkville to last just seven games, and it was a rough stretch to start the season, with his efficiency and overall production halved compared to his days at Penn State. He averaged 16.7 points per game in 2023-24 on 46-37-81 shooting splits in the Big Ten, including five games of at least 25 points. At Mississippi State, Josh Hubbard was the clear guy; now, Clary has the chance to be the No. 1 option for the Cowboys.
