As the attention of the women’s hoops world hones in on Tampa and the Final Four, the transfer portal continues to boom.
With over 1,100 entries thus far, some of the country’s brightest stars will don different uniforms next season.
Here, the Portal Report and Hoops HQ headline the top portal stories to keep an eye on right now.
Premier Programs in Pursuit of the Nation’s Leading Scorer
When a player averages 25 points, players and coaches around the country tend to take notice. And when said player announced her intentions to enter the transfer portal, top teams took immediate action.
Ta’Niya Latson, a 5-foot-8 junior guard, averaged more than 20 points per game in each of her three seasons at Florida State. This season, that number blossomed to a career-high 25.2 points per contest. Her Seminoles saw their season end in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in a loss to No. 3 seed LSU, a game in which Latson had 30 points.
Latson, who played at four high schools in four years, has reported interest from LSU, Notre Dame and South Carolina. She will have a tough decision, with each of those three potential suitors consistently ranked in the top 10.

Top Prospect Pulls a Shocker
Olivia Miles made history when she decided to bypass the WNBA draft as the projected No. 2 overall pick and enter the transfer portal. Miles, a 5-foot-10 guard who slashed 15.4/5.6/5.8 on the way to an Elite Eight appearance with Notre Dame, announced that she would transfer Monday. Miles scored 20 points seven times this season and finished with consecutive double-doubles against Loyola-Maryland and Virginia.
With 5-foot-6 sophomore guard Hannah Hidalgo averaging seven more shot attempts per game, Miles decided to hit the portal. Expect the nation’s top programs to be in pursuit, with LSU’s Kim Mulkey and South Carolina’s Dawn Staley always on the lookout for transfer talent.

Auburn player reunites with former coach
Shortly after the dismissal of coach Johnnie Harris, Auburn sophomore Taliah Scott announced her intention to enter the transfer portal. Sunday, Scott, a 5-foot-9 guard who spent her freshman season at Arkansas, committed to Baylor, and Harris accepted the associate head coaching position in Waco a few days later.
Although she suffered a season-ending wrist injury three games into the season, Scott averaged 20.3 points per contest for the Tigers, including 28 against Oregon. As a freshman at Arkansas, Scott averaged 22.1 points and 36.4 minutes per game.
Look for Scott’s ability to score from all spots on the floor to boost the Bears, a perennial top-25 program.
Ole Miss on Fire to Start Portal Season
Ole Miss coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin has been busy. After losing six transfers from this season’s team, McPhee-McCuin already has landed three impact players from the portal.
The first addition was Latasha Lattimore, a 6-foot-4 center from Virginia who averaged 14.2 points and 8.2 rebounds and blocked 69 shots this season. She also has played at Texas and Miami.
The Rebels also added 6-foot forward Jayla Murray from Wichita State. She was a second-team All-AAC pick this season, when she averaged 12.4 points and 5.3 rebounds; she was the Shockers’ leader in both categories.
The latest addition is 5-foot-9 guard Kaitlin Peterson, who played just two seasons at UCF and still is the fifth-leading scorer in school history. She averaged 21.4 points per game this season, including five 30-point outings, and was a second-team All-Big 12 performer; she led the league at 36.2 minutes per game. Peterson played her first two seasons at Indiana.

Cyclones Land Former Five-Star
After an eighth-place finish in the Big 12, Arizona saw its two leading scorers hit the portal. Jada Williams, a 5-foot-8 sophomore who was the team leader in points (12.7 per game) and assists (2.9 per game), committed to Big 12 Conference rival Iowa State. Williams led the Wildcats in scoring seven times, including a career-high 25-point game against Utah.
With 6-foot-3 forward Audi Crooks expected back with the Cyclones for another season, keep an eye on what could be a lethal pick-and-roll duo.

Former Miss Indiana Commits to Hoosiers
A former Indiana high school basketball star has decided to return to her home state. Chloe Spreen, who was the 2024 Indiana Miss Basketball, committed to coach Teri Moren and Indiana on Wednesday.
Spreen, a 5-foot-10 guard, signed with Alabama out of Bedford (Ind.) North Lawrence. But she received minimal playing time, averaging 1.2 points per game this season as a freshman. Three guards from this season’s IU squad went into the portal, so Spreen should have ample opportunity to make an impact.
Oral Roberts’ Leading Scorer Enters the Portal
Taleyah Jones, a 5-foot-10 sophomore guard, averaged 17.5 points per game this season for Oral Roberts and has hit the portal. Jones was the Summit League Newcomer of the Year after transferring from UT-Arlington. She led the Golden Eagles to two victories over SEC opponents, scoring at least 20 in both games.
Jones helped the Golden Eagles to a 24-8 overall record and a Summit League Tournament finals appearance, where they fell just short against league power South Dakota State. Look for her to make the jump to a Power Five program.
Georgia Tech Shooting Guard Transfers Interconference
Rusne Augustinaite is moving from Georgia Tech to Clemson after two seasons with the Yellow Jackets.
Augustinaite, a 6-foot guard who is from Lithuania, started 17 games as a freshman in 2023-24. But her role decreased with Tech this season because of the impact made by 5-foot-9 freshman guard Dani Carnegie. At times, though, Augustinaite showed flashes, including scoring 23 points in 23 minutes against Rice.
Mya Perry Returns to the Buckeye State
After two seasons at FAU, 5-foot-11 guard Mya Perry will play in her home state of Ohio once again, this time for the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Perry began her career at Ohio State, where she played in six games as a freshman. After transferring to FAU, she earned back-to-back All-AAC second-team honors, averaging over 13 points per contest in her two seasons at FAU.
With senior guard Tineya Hylton’s time in a Bearcats uniform coming to a close, expect Perry, who is from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, near Columbus, to provide experience and scoring in the backcourt.
USF Earns Commitment From Former IU Indy Star
USF guard Sammie Puisis concluded her college career with a 28-point performance in a loss to Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament. USF coach Jose Fernandez, who has led the Bulls to the Big Dance ten times, filled the scoring void in his lineup by adding 5-foot-10 guard Katie Davidson, a former IU Indianapolis star.
Davidson started her career at Miami (Ohio) and transferred to IU Indy before her junior season. She averaged 16.4 points per game last season, then improved to 19.4 this season, when she shot 50.2 percent from the field.
